The baby products industry can be a funny one because when I was researching pushchairs and car seats whilst pregnant with the bambino, the concept of lie flat car seats seemed to be generally pooh poohed and not the done thing in the UK with it being a more continental behaviour. But it seems times are a changing with products like the Britax Baby Safe Sleeper.
Now admittedly, it’s not just a lie flat car seat and it doubles up as the carrycot for the Britax Vigour 3+ and 4+ to convert it into a pram. It’s suitable from birth to six months (10kg weight max), has an adjustable backrest, a 3 point harness, adjustable air vents, retractable showerproof hood, a showerproof apron, and also includes a mattress. There are also a couple of safety features including a roll cage for in event of an accident.
It does need two 3 point seatbelts for installation so you can kiss goodbye to another seat in the back.
I quite like the look of it as it looks like a sturdy, snug cocoon. It is a fairly chunky investment though for something that you’ll only get 6 months use out, although to be fair, you do get a carrycot out out of it so it’s good value if you use it as a pram too. And it’s been approved for overnight sleeping so you could use it as a travel cot. Also available in black.
£148.95 including delivery from Precious Little One. The RRP is £169.99.
Don’t forget that you can see other pushchairs, prams and accessories we’ve featured in The Pushchair Track.
