Now before anyone thinks that this woman is wearing a bum bag…it’s not. I leave that type of thing to Heather Mills… No, the BabyPlus is a little piece of technology that enables you to start educating your baby from when they’re in the womb by providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
The curriculum consists of 16 sounds of natural origin that resemble a maternal heartbeat, the only language that a baby understands. You can start using it at any point between 18 and 32 weeks and you have 2 one hourly sessions each day.
As well as an opportunity to bond, using Baby Plus is supposed to have long term learning benefits with users raving about how clever their babies are.
With me loving technology and gadgets, I would LOVE to have used one of these when I was pregnant with the bambino. Instead she had to listen to me tunelessly singing Amy Winehouse and her dad murdering the Sound of Music… But I did recognise the importance of spending quality time with the bump and I would have welcomed the opportunity to have something like this to further stimulate my already very hyper bambino!
Interestingly, you can rent or buy a Baby Plus which I think is a really great way to encourage people to try out the product with minimal investment. It’s £19.95 per month (plus £5 p&p for the first month) to rent, or if you’d like to buy a BabyPlus, they’re £99.95.
It’s also available from stores like Amazon, the NCT, and other major stockists.
