I always thought that doing things like this was kitsch until I became pregnant and found myself having my belly cast. If I lived in America, I’d definitely get this Baby Foot Print kit from the MoMa store for a very reasonable $35. This kit is distinctly cooler than anything else I’ve seen and is made from two half hinged boxes that house impression foam, which I prefer to putting a baby’s foot into clay.
I searched high and low for a UK stockist or similar alternative, and the the only product I’ve found so far is Premium Home Imprint Kit from Babyrepublic which uses non toxic imprint dough to cast the foot. There’s no baking involved and it’s better than using clay. At £25 it’s OK but doesn’t quite come close to the MoMa product, so the search continues!
