This is a subject close to my heart as my middle child has suffered with asthma, ezcema and allergies all his life and continues to do so, although his food allergies have improved so we have to be grateful for whatever improvements arise.
One of the difficult things is getting awareness to the people in your lives. My son had bad asthma as a bambino, but still people wanted to buy him soft toys, which unless they were frozen then washed regularly at high temperatures to make sure there were no dust mites or other allergens, they would irritate him.
He is and was sports mad, only wanting to wear football kits, but the material would itch his ezcema, the list goes on and on so I was very interested to see this Asthma Friendly Buddy Bear and thought I had better share it with you, as more and more children are being diagnosed with asthma daily.
This soft teddy comes with the Asthma Friendly Certification mark and is made completely without any fabric or fillings that are known to aggravate asthma. Additionally, they are so well made that they will withstand the effective allergen reduction process of freezing, washing and drying, while maintaining all the safety requirements. Available from Cradle and All for £13.99. This isn’t the most exciting looking of toys so if you want something a little funkier, also check out Swobbles which we featured last month.
