I must admit to being dubious when I first saw this online. I thought it may be too gimmicky or not really child-friendly. Luckily I saw it a shop the other day and opened it up.
Strong block printed lettering narrates the iconic and colourful pictures. Aside from the cows, which are shown on the cover, you would be forgiven for not recognising it as the work of Andy Warhol as we are so used to the screen printed images of his 60s work. The majority of the pictures used come from the 1950s – I know this because it has a handy reference page at the back!
Don’t let the Warhol stamp put you off. I think this is a lovely colours book which will help you expose your child to art while helping them learn colours. I also think this is far less tenuous than Peter Rabbit Colors!
