Lola and I are camping under the stars at Camp Bestival with The National Trust as part of their 50 things to do before you’re 11¾ initiative. The scheme is all about getting the kids outside and most of the challenges listed are free – think tree climbing, mud pie making and playing in the rain alongside the likes of geocaching, bug hunting and horse riding. You create an account and store what you have completed along with photos and locations. Once you have completed all the challenges you get a secret (!) reward. There’s a handy checklist which we’ve printed off or you can pick up a scrapbook at any National Trust properties – there are loads of brilliant activities for kids going on around the UK this summer. It’s good old fashioned fun and we can’t wait to tick off star gazing – Lola’s started choosing other activities she wants to do already! Enjoy.
