Bathtime is a complete joy with little ones, although it can quickly descend into chaos if you don’t have the right gear to help you get organised.  There’s plenty to choose from that can help you out with your mini aqua acrobats, and all at reasonable prices. Here’s a selection of 10 budget bathtime favourites:
Ergonomic bath support seat from Babies R Us
Safety is key, especially for newborns, as they’re not always entirely comfortable in what seems a big sea of water to them, so a bath support is a great way of making them feel more secure. Whilst not being the most aesthetically exciting piece, this ergonomic bath support is at least free of garish colours or pictures, and is also a great help to a nervous new parent with a slippery baby. £10.75
Summer Turtle Digital Temperature Tester
Is the water the right temperature? There are many specially designed bath thermometers on the market for babies, and this one doubles as a fun floating toy and recalculates the temperature every ten seconds so you have peace of mind and your baby is kept amused at the same time.  Available from Babyoka for £9.29. If you’re buying a multi purpose thermometer, or want something less kidified, the Philips Digital Bath and Room Thermometer is a great buy at £12.50 from John Lewis.
Tubtime Artist Bath Bag
Distraction is frequently a successful tool of good parenting and this fun set lets your little one can carry on with their masterpieces all over the bath whilst being scrubbed down. It contains a selection of 5 different coloured soap crayons, along with a squirty spray and cloth to clean it all up with, which will probably be used by you unless you have them very well trained already! £10 from Fabulous Kids
Summer Baby’s first bubble maker
Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles! I don’t think they ever lose their magic however old you are. This gadget will provide endless fun and probably to the big kid parents too! Use the suction pads on the portable unit to move it around on tiled surfaces. £9.77 from Tesco Direct
Duck shower cap
For slightly older toddlers, this shower cap from one of my favourite shops, Pod, is fantastic. You can also choose from a pig, chicken, cow, frog, little devil, hippo, teddy or panda £3.99
Brother Max 5 Bath toy set
These attractive toys have been designed to teach little ones how to wash themselves through innovative play, and as an added bonus, the spots on the toys also change to yellow if the water is too hot. With five toys in one for £16.99 from the BG Amazon Store, this product is great value and with the education element, easy to justify to the other half!
Playgro face washers
This firm favourite from Kiddicare come in packs of six in great bright colours, either three green and three blue, or three pink and three yellow, for £2.99 a pack, and I’m very tempted to get both. Also a great buy and great to stock up on, are the Krama wash cloths from Ikea for £2.93 for a pack of 10. Available instore.
Cuddle ‘n’ dry newborn snuggle wrap towel
After all the water fun you need to get them out and dry. Scoop them up and swaddle them in this towel made from pure cotton towelling, with soft fabric ties so they feel secure. £14.99 at Mothercare.
Little Me Skincare Products
This is their organic baby skincare range developed by a team of mothers for mothers. The Little Me Organics Sleepy Head Bodycream (£4.88) is great to smooth over your baby after a fun bath time when you want to start calming them down to get them ready for bed. This range is a lovely and affordable alternative to some of the more expensive ones around.
Does your bathroom often look like a bomb has hit it?! You don’t need to carry on tripping over all these bathtime accessories, as Küster have a fantastic 2-piece solution to this with their Bath Toy Store from Bambino Direct that will scoop up all the toys, allow them to drain and then keep them all out of the way, and your bathroom looking as you intended it!
