I looked around the kitchen recently and realised that the kids and I have become more than a little Rice DK obsessed. The Danish fairtrade design company is hot, hot, hot, and popping with colour mixed with an eclectic granny boho appeal that has me wanting to fill up the house with it. Here are a few of my current favourites and most of them are made from melamine which they’re brilliant for.
Animal purses £9.99. Nia (2 almost 3) is a money lover and has been known to sleep with her dog purse close at hand. She also keeps a raisin box in there.
Both of my girls fight over this two-handled beaker which they seem to specifically like drinking milk or ‘pink milk’ out. It comes as either a small dog print or a large dog print and is pure cuteness. £5.30 each.
Nia uses the red melamine fork and spoon set, £2.80.
The girls like grazing over a selection of food bits at lunch time and these dinner plates featuring dividers are also handy if you have a fussy eater on your hands that doesn’t like their food “mixed up”. £7.80 and also available in blue and pink.
Their mini lunchboxes are perfect for packing snacks for when you’re out and about. £6.99 for the set.
These are all available from VUP Baby.
One of my absolutely most favourite buys ever, I have the melamine cup set that features red, purple, and orange. They look fantastic used indoors and outdoors for picnics and are very grippable even for little hands. £18.80 a set at Sisters Guild. Nettle Green also has an enormous range of Rice DK and sells cups separately in a dazzling array of colours as well as in sets.
