I’ve known about VIVObarefoot shoes for a while and was surprised to see I’d not mentioned them here before. The principle is simple: the soles of each shoe are completely flexible and allow the foot to feel the ground while being completely protected by the unique puncture proof material used. In short: wearing them is like being barefoot.
Their shoes for children come in several classic styles: Mary Janes, Chelsea Boots, Velcro’d trainer and lace ups in a range of colours. While shopping for shoes Monty has tried them on several times and the movement he gets through his feet is remarkable (although he has opted for a different brand in the end). I think the styles are pared back enough that they would be suitable as school shoes.
Prices are from £36 and you can buy them from their website or check for stockists in your area.
