Kitty is at that age where lift-the-flap books come into their own as she’s now much more interested in finding out what’s underneath than tearing the flap out of the book. So, Who’s in the Tree That Shouldn’t Be? by Craig Shuttlewood (Templar, RRP £6.99) has proved a big hit. It’s a great interactive read, with quirky illustrations and pleasing rhyming text. Kitty loves finding the animals in odd places – a penguin in a tree, a giraffe in space or a peacock in the ocean – under the flaps. And I’ve just discovered that the author is from Brighton, which just makes me like it more!
