You know there are just some books that capture your children’s imagination? This is Not a Book by Jean Jullien (Phaidon, RRP £6.95) is one such tome. It doesn’t contain any words, but is a big hit with both 3.5-year-old Kitty and nearly seven-year-old Alfie. As the title suggests, it’s very versatile – it’s not a book, it’s a tennis court, a fridge, a computer, a piano, a house, theatre, a tent, a monster and, most amusingly for my two, a bottom! Guaranteed to keep little people entertained for ages and spark imaginative play, it’s a creative gift.
