Mouk, the French cartoon about the travelling bear and his cat companion Chavapa is a favourite in the Mole-Davies household. In fact, we’re fans of all things illustrated by Marc Boutavant. So, it’s no surprise that Never Tickle a Tiger by Pamela Butchart (Bloomsbury, RRP £6.99) which features his delightfully whimsical animal drawings, has become a bedtime staple already. It helps that the story is great as well, telling the tale of fidgety Izzy whose inability to stay still and do what she’s told causes chaos on a school trip to the zoo, with the repercussions revealed on a gatefold. Kitty finds it absolutely hilarious and there’s a twist in the tail – always a winner.
