I did a little gift shopping earlier on this week at the The Handpicked Collection, an online gift boutique which as a well edited collection of gifts that have been handpicked by a panel of twenty influential trendsetters including journo’s from the likes of the In Style and Harpers, and the peeps behind the Mr & Mrs Smith hotel guide and every item has a pithy one liner stating why it was chosen.
I nabbed a Mary Mary Garden Starter tube of sunflower seeds which comes with a biodegradable coir pot and planting instructions for £2.65. Very eco friendly but looking forward to seeing the bambino’s face when it blossoms. I also got an allotment starter kit (they only have the cucumber left in stock at the mo), £2.65, which is ideal for a wannabe kitchen gardener, and also comes with it’s biodegradable coir pot.
For brisk days in the park, I also got a pocket kite, £3.95 each, which has been designed to fold down into a tiny pouch and it’s not difficult to fly, plus it has a keyring attachment to clip it to a rucksack, so that you don’t lose it and it’s ready to take out on your travels.
After featuring Rosie Flo colouring books and realising that many of us are into our second childhood with our kids, I got The Telephone Doodle Book, £7.95, which, like Rosie Flo’s, has doodles for you to complete and of course colour in. Whilst I’m sure it will no doubt come in handy whilst being on hold to Yet Another Annoying Company, I’m sure it won’t be restricted to just telephone fun.
It’s a measure of how great the gifts are that I saw so many things I wanted but they were (thankfully, or at least my bank balance thinks so) out of stock on a number of things, although most are back in stock now. There’s also still time to order before Christmas!
