Who doesn’t love a good pop-up book? The Greatest Opposites Book on Earth by Lee Singh and Tom Frost (Templar, RRP £12.99) is a great example of the genre as paper engineer Singh has created plenty of intricate and unusual pop-ups and flaps to lift – all within the setting of a circus. Frost’s illustrations are suitably bright and beautiful, with a hint of the retro, and, of course, it’s educational – learn opposites such as few and many, same and different and wet and dry, thanks to the various Big Top performers. My little people’s favourite is the last one, quiet and loud – they delight in shouting, ‘We hope you enjoyed the show’ at the end of the book (perhaps not one for bedtime!)
