Every Wednesday morning Kitty and I go to the cinema. Yes, that’s Kitty, my seven-month-old baby. And, no, we’re not watching In the Night Garden. I thought everyone with children knew about the joys of baby cinema, but, judging by reactions when I tell people about it, I was wrong. So, listen up. If you have a Picturehouse near you and a baby, check out Big Scream – weekly screenings exclusively for parents of the under ones. Yes, the auditorium lights are slightly less dim than usual, and yes, some babies might cry, but you can sit and have a coffee and a slice of cake and watch the latest releases relatively undisturbed – all without having to find a babysitter. Kitty generally has a feed, then a sleep, then a play and thoroughly enjoys the whole experience – we even managed the epic Les Miserables with no upset the other week. I really can’t recommend it enough. If you’re planning on being a regular, it’s well worth becoming a member as, for £35 a year, you’ll get three free tickets, £2 off each subsequent ticket, waived booking fee and discount on your food and drink. If you’re not lucky enough to live near a Picturehouse, Odeon Newbies looks like a similar scheme. You have been watching…
