Sometimes a product is so well designed it takes my breath away. When I saw the Bednest I could have wept as it was exactly what I needed when I had my second child *last* year.
The Bednest is an elegant crib designed for use from birth to around six months. It is a bedside crib which is adjustable to fit alongside any bed with a mattress height between 300mm and 660mm and attaches securely using a strap. It works as a stand alone crib (above) and even folds down to make it easily portable so you can stay away from home without worrying about how changing beds will affect your little one. It comes with a carry case and weighs only 7.5kg. The main body of the Bednest is wood with cotton sides, the cotton sides allow the crib to be open to the bed but also attach at ‘half mast’ to prevent your baby rolling into your bed. I love the curved wood in the design and think it holds its own against far pricier design-led cots.
It comes with its own mattress, sheets and spare parts can be bought from the Bednest shop. If we are lucky enough to have a third baby this is the first thing I am buying.
