Time for the Juniors (aged eight to ten) today. Making and crafting kits are my go-to for children this age – great for keeping them away from screens. Also the perfect time to encourage an interest in science with sets for experimenting, plus clothes and accessories start to become popular. Another chance to win with a brilliant giveaway from Geomag.

The Geomag series, winner of numerous awards, helps children of all ages to develop imagination and curiosity through the science of magnetic constructions. One reader can win a Geomag (768) Mechanics Motion 3 Gears 160 Piece Set, worth over £45, which enables children to construct functioning models in many shapes and sizes, using the repelling force of magnets to magically create movement with no contact.
To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment below telling us about your favourite science experiment to do with the children. For me, it has to be elephant's toothpaste!

Volcano with vinegar & bicarb – always popular!
We’ve had a few really dramatic ones!
Has to be the classic volcano experiment with bicarb and vinegar.
The classics are often the best.
Elephants toothpaste here too…. although we do like experimenting generally when cooking!
To be fair, most of my cooking is experimental!
Definitely the bouncy egg experiment!
Yes! It’s a great one!
The Rainbow Skittles experiment is always a favourite in our house.
Ooh, what’s that?
It’s amazing. You just place some skittles in a circle on a plate, then pour some warm water on them. It makes a lovely rainbow pattern when the dye runs off the sweets. Its so simple, and the kids still get to eat the sweets at the end. X
We like freezing little toys stuff in water and finding the best ways to break them free!
You could do that outside at the moment!
We like making fossils with jelly snakes and and bread
That sounds like a great idea!
