Kensal Rise based Kidsen is rocking the cool meter with a handpicked range of children’s delights, with most of them being Scandinavian. From Lundby dollhouses like the Stockholm pictured, to soft pretend and imaginative play toys by Oskar and Ellen, to Micki’s Pippi Longstocking (oh the nostalgia!) gear, to decor and accessories by Ferm Living, Brio, DwellStudio, and Our Children’s Gorilla, to clothing by Moccis, Mini Rodini, and Lille Barn and much more, this is a veritable hotspot with it’s discerning finger firmly on the pulse.
My favourites are the Lundby Stockholm dollhouse, £54.99, which is deliciously retro and is the type of thing you’ll love playing with as much as your child… It’s got pull down acrylic doors, a pull out pool with mosaic terrace, and it can even be plugged in to be lit at night. Naturally all the furniture and accessories are separate. The Pippi Longstocking tea set, £12.99 is adorable and not over girlie that it won’t be enjoyed by both sexes, and I’m also loving the Oskar and Ellen decorative map of the world, £44.99, which is embroidered with around 50 facts about the continents, and you can buy additional velcro backed accessories – people, animals, landmarks, and places for £6.99 each. Maps like these can be super expensive even for kids so this is a particularly exceptional buy that you’ll enjoy for years.
Hotfoot it now and of course, swing by if you’re in the Kensal Rise area!
