Oh my. This is divine. We have all been having a serious swoon session at the QUBIS HAUS by Amy Whitworth here at BG. The clean, modern lines of QUBIS HAUS look great and it’s brilliantly functional. It is a solid birch ply wood coffee table that transforms into a dolls’ house whose walls you can configure as you please using sliding wood and perspex panels.
You’ll also find a range of sustainable oak toy furniture, formed of a variety of blocks with embedded magnets which transform in to beds, tables and chairs with a click. There are three sets available: Living Room, Dining Room and Bedroom. Have a look at this video to see how it all works:
Not surprisingly QUBIS HAUS was one of the 2012 winners of the Boost product design competition, a platform for new design talent and a collaboration between the Observer, the Southbank Centre and Cockpit Arts. You can buy QUBIS HAUS for £400 and the QUBIS furniture sets for £35 each from the Southbank Centre shop.
