Kat sure did hit on a hot find when she featured the ASOS maternity range over on Mama To Be Goodies last week.
If you’re unfamiliar with ASOS (As Seen On Screen), it’s a fashion etailer that sells clothing as seen on or inspired by celebrities, with a mix of their affordable own brand pieces, high street, independents, and designer wear.
I only wish I had somewhere to wear their Embellished Strap Babydoll Dress which is apparently in the style of Mischa Barton. Totally unsuitable for this weather making it all the more delightful, it’s a sheer, knee length babydoll dress, with contrasting beading detail around the neck and the strap. They claim it’s pink (clearly pregnancy is messing with my eyesight…) and it’s available in sizes 8-16 for £44.05.
I have to say, I am all over the ASOS maternity range like a rash and with prices and style this good, high street maternity and some online brands will be sitting up and paying attention, because their pieces are on trend, affordable, and are actually taking a few risks and remind us pregnant folk that you can still carry an extra load and slip into something foxy.
Their dresses, for instance, which are all by ASOS or Lipsy, range between £27.41 and £53.83. The ASOS Chiffon Paisley Print Dress (right) is £29.37 and I could see me strutting out in this with some opaque tights and it looks like it could be slipped on over skinny jeans.
Apparently, you’ll be in the style of J Lo (I’m sure she’s dropped her Jenny from the block name and prefers to be called Jennifer Lopez…anyway…) if you get their gorgeous ASOS Pleated Swing Coat (also seen on Melanie ‘Sporty Spice’ Chisholm last week) which is an extremely flattering design with a high, oversized collar to swoon for. Move very fast though as they’re sold out in all sizes bar 8 and 10. £68.52
They have jeans by ASOS, James Jeans, and Rock & Republic ranging from £29.37 – £244.69 in pretty much every cut and colour.
They’ve got a decent range of maternity underwear too by the likes of Ellle Macpherson Intimates, Hot Milk, and Amoralia and they of course have tops, trousers, loungewear, and a little knitwear.
I’m loving it and if you’re looking for affordable maternity style, especially with dresses, this is where it’s at! Not sure about the bare legged models though…last I checked it’s not exactly high summer outside…
