I’ve become an instant fan of Ziggie Smalls (are they Biggie Smalls/Notorious B.I.G fans?), an independent boutique full of unusual, unique, and bespoke pieces, created by two friends from London and NYC. Their range actually gave me palpitations! Honestly, don’t go there if you struggle with restraint! Don’t say I didn’t warn you….
The store is divided into Spit Happens (funk gear with spit protection), Ziggie Smalls (clothing for little ‘uns), and Ziggie Boutique (furniture and accessories). Honestly, my eyes were on stalks at this place!
For a start, they have these fab t-shirt bibs in their ‘Spit Happens’ section called The Drier Attire. They’re a unique range of t-shirts featuring a built-in, waterproof bib. Love it! £15 in sizes 0-18 months.
And so I moved on through the site and that’s when the palpitations kicked in! I popped into the Ziggie Smalls section, and went straight to the girls bit, and sweet Jesus! A collection of stunning, achingly trendy, girly gear featuring retro prints, lurex threading, delicate details, well chosen buttons, and illustration prints.
The Retro Slip Dresses are exclusive to Ziggie Smalls and simply divine! Each dress is finished with floral trim, front button detail, and shoulder button fastenings and are made from 55% linen, 45% cotton mix. They’re £37 and available in 3 colours. The bloomers come separately and are £18 each.
I pretty much loved everything in the girls section so I had to drag myself over the boys section to still my beating heart…It calmed a bit, after all, I don’t have my own boy baby to splurge on but their boy gear is scrumptious too, although there is no prettiness and frills to be seen. My favourite was actually the cargo pants which are £25 and feature a front tie detail, side pockets, and leg bands for comfort and fit. They’re perfect for either boys or girls and also come in a very cool beige colour too.
And then…I went over to Ziggie Boutique and I wept because these people could kill me! I will be featuring more of their unbelievably fabulous stuff, but without a doubt, I am in LOVE with the Flower Waltz Arm Chair which is £190.
It’s an undersized armchair in the Lloyd Loom style upholstered in vintage Jonelle fabric with felt flower button detail. It actually says “Natalie! Buy me! I need a home! Don’t listen to what the boyf says! Just tell him it’s always been there!” The voice then adds “And while you’re there Natalie, knock yourself out and get the Peace and Love Wall Hanging” (£85)….
