I tell you, I have been over at Punkin Patch, a relatively new store that focuses on selling baby gear for whimsical nurseries, and over there, there is no credit crunch going on as they have some seeeeriously expensive cots and cribs! I could feature much of their range but I thought I’d highlight a couple of them…
The Cinderella Iron Cot is ostentatious with a capital O! Perfect for a rich parent with a penchant for recreating fairy tales, brace yourself…it will set you back £3K! Yikes! It’s made from cast iron and hand painted in the finish of your preference (I should think so!), and features canopy posts with a gorgeous decorative wreath of birds and leaves. Even for me who thinks fairy tales have a lot to answer for in relationship strifes in the modern world, even I can’t help but ooh and aah at the seriously expensive cutefest. It has three mattress levels and if you have any cash left, you can even get a matching changing table although I didn’t dare look at the price…
Let your blood pressure calm down a little by moving down the price bracket…by a couple of grand…
The Planet Little Luxury Cradle rose to fame when it was featured on Football Wive’s (it was only fun to watch for one series so I didn’t see this cradle on there) and is one of the more contemporary offerings at Punkin Patch. It’s handcrafted and features the exact replicated stitching of the Land Rover Limited Editon Sport 2008. Yes…are you getting that WAG feeling too? The legs are solid oak (shouldn’t it all be at this price?) and it comes in three finishes. I have to say it is lovely although I wouldn’t spend a grand on any cradle! Actually, it’s £1050. Well actually, who knows what I would do if I was loaded? In the meantime, if you have desires to emulate the WAG lifestyle, I suggest you get a pixie haircut a la Posh, a Bugaboo, or some Bonpoint…
You have to check out Punkin Patch so you can get a taste of how the ‘Other Lot’ live. Just wait till you see The Big Brown House, a ma-ssive posh outdoor playhouse. If you’re interested in purchasing, it’s now £22,950 reduced from £27,995…
