I was recently sent a couple of packs of these Jackson Reece Herbal Baby Wipes to try out on the bambino. I have been on the lookout for new wipes so it was great to try out something new without having to open my purse! Yay!
About the product
These alcohol free wipes are aimed at both skin and environmentally conscious mums. They’re made from renewable natural plant resources with ingredients that include organic lavender oil, aloe vera, and tea tree oil plus high purity water AND a vegetable based preservative system approved by the Vegan Society. Ooh, that’s quite a mouthful! They’re suitable for most skin types including eczema sufferers and are 100% biodegradable. The packaging is degradable and they’re made in the UK so their carbon footprint is reduced.
My verdict
Scent: Jackson Reece has really come up trumps scent wise. They smell pleasantly herby without being overwhelming. The big test for me is does baby’s skin have a nice faint smell of wipe…or a faint smell of wee/poo, and there’s no dodgy whiff.
Moisture and wipeability: They are quite moist making them move over the bambinos bum with ease.
Kind to baby’s skin factor: As an acupuncture and kinesiology fan, I certainly recognise how important it is to be careful of what you put on your skin and in your body, so if it’s good enough to use for eczema sufferers, my interest is piqued!
Price: I’m delighted that the wipes are a very reasonable price in line with the prices of big non-environmentally friendly brands. Why wouldn’t you choose this eco alternative over similarly priced brands that offer less?
Any negatives – Bit fiddly to open the first time and one of the bags split a bit on the opening but admittedly this has happened with non-degradable packaging in the past…
Summary: 4/5 I’ll definitely be buying these and I think they’re excellent value with so many desirable and environmentally friendly factors. The bambino and I say try it!
