I tell you, they can just about come up with any old creative toy concept these days and put a whacking pricetag on it!
Take for instance this Playhouse Children’s area. Designed by Anders Breitholtz, it’s an intelligent play area intended to stimulate creativity in young minds.
The intention is for children to construct new urban and rural landscapes. Sounds good so far… So I was expecting it come with a few more pieces, maybe a hedge, an animal, or even a model person thrown in, but all of this landscape is supposed to be created from 2 grey skyscrapers, 3 red houses, and the sound absorbent, circular mat….
Mind you, the bambino can get entertainment out of waving an empty cardboad box for a good half hour so maybe I shouldn’t be that perturbed…
It’s aimed at the home but it’s other use is for livening up child areas in places like offices and waiting rooms. I think with £1480 pricetag, the latter option, sounds like the better place for it.
Available from FunktionAlley.
Btw, the buildings are made from polyurethane coated cold foam.
