I’ve always liked Penfield, the American outerwear brand known for its distinctive New England aesthetic. They’re particularly known for their parka jackets (I love parkas and it pays to find a really good quality one that will last you for years) and now I’m eyeing their new kids collection.
Unsurprisingly, I’m super keen on the yellow Kasson Mountain Parka which is also available in red, navy, and a lighter blue, as well as the chunky quilted Bowerbridge jackets. Using high performance fabrics designed to keep your child warm and protected from the elements, the jackets feature details like angled pockets, storm flaps, fur trim, and shearling collars. There’s also gilets (they call them ‘vests’) as well as sweatshirts, hoodies, t-shirts. Jackets start from £125 although unless there’s a massive leap in size (we have very tall seven-year old that’s blazing through clothes and shoes with her growth spurts), your little one should be able to get a couple of years or so out of their jackets.
