Third in our mini series exploring how our favourite children’s designers do Christmas is Melanie from Pimp My Stroller – officially the coolest toy buggies in town.Â
Describe your ideal Christmas Day.
Opening pressies in PJs, with kids going nuts and a ginger tea in hand, preferably later than 5am.
What was your best ever present?
Moving from London to a new house in Hove just before Christmas ten years ago. Best thing we ever did.
Do you have any family traditions?
‘Creating’ the Christmas tree. Every year our tree is different. One year we stomped through the woods collecting fallen branches to spray and decorate. Another year we bought an olive tree and brought that inside, it almost completely molted, but we managed to rescue it with a swift exit to the garden! We’ve also made a hanging tree from bamboo canes… Kids love it, I get excited, husband not impressed with the task of hanging, bolting or balancing the ‘creation’ in its place each year ; ) This year is TBC but I have my eye on some coloured perspex!
What’s your favourite thing about the festive season?
Taking the kids out late to see all the Xmas lights in Brighton and London. Mesmerising for all.
What are you hoping to find under the tree this year?
A new Orla Kiely Bag, please, Santa.
Pimp My Stroller are popping up with us and a host of other lovely brands in Brighton next week. See Brighton Pop Up for more details.Â
