Well after making more visits to the Molly n Jack site than I care to remember, they have finally uploaded some of their new Spring/Summer 09 collection. For a quick recap, Molly n Jack is the upmarket childrenswear line from Minimode, which is actually Boots, yes, the chemist.
One of the best kept secrets on the high street, this has mainly happened because no-one has a clue which Boots they’re sold in and trust me, I’ve been to a few of the ma-hu-ssive Boots and never seen it there. Fortunately, it’s all online, but you have to strike whilst the iron is hot, not just for the best pieces, but also for the boys pieces, which sell out super quick!
Knowing what Molly n Jack are like after stalking their collections for the past year, the 20 pieces that are currently online are just ‘teasers’ with more to come.
Staying true to the ethos that makes them so popular, the collection is more cool, laid back style taking traditional styles and pulling out modern classics that have a whimsical, vintage vibe, and always with little details that set them apart from other ‘high street’ brands.
The boys collection (only six items at present) is preppy casual with the main colours being brown hues and grey. Their Dobby printed shirt (top left) £10, has a grey striped collar and pocket detail and can be worn dressed up or down. I love the striped raincoat too (above right) £20, with the sweet collar, double breast, and smart casual stripes.
Of course, they haven’t been so reserved with the teasers that they’ve put up for the girls which definitely has more colour injection. Think sweet prints with vintage echoes, frill detail, delicate girlie knits, and floral dress delights in variety of styles and cuts.
I’m all over their floral print double layer skirt (top right) £14, which is part of their ‘retro flowers’ range and features a stretchy waist with stitching and gathering detail, with sweet buttons down the front. The shirt dress (above left) £14 is the epitome of retro cool and also comes from the same range.
Loving it! Now all we have to do is wait for more stock to be uploaded! Oh and just to show how affordable they are, I’ve never seen anything over £30 in their range!
