Bit of a cheat day today as this is made entirely from a kit – you’ll just need a glue gun and sticks, plus scissors and (potentially) wire cutters (although our big scissors worked fine on the wire). The Make a Rainbow macrame kit is by Helen Ribbons on Etsy and involves bending wire to make arcs, tying cord to the wire, then wrapping different coloured thread around, before gluing the arcs together to make your rainbow.

Kitty and I really enjoyed this super-calming activity and it was lovely to make something that she was more than happy to put up in her room, although, to be honest, it was so pretty, I’d have been happy to hang it up downstairs if it weren’t for the still-in-the-chewing-phase dog. I bought a few of these as Christmas pressies and everyone was delighted with them – they come beautifully packaged, so are perfect for gifting and the multipacks are great value.
