While visiting The Vintage Furniture Flea in Bethnal Green earlier this summer (there’s one coming up in a couple of weeks and it’s thirty seconds from The Museum of Childhood too – result!), I swooned over the collection of divine vintage and retro school posters on the kidsGorétro stand as well as the covetable collection of maps at owner Alex’s sister company Retro Maps.
Dating from the 1950s to 1970s, these posters were originally used to teach vocabulary lessons in French schools and feature enchanting designs that evoke plenty of nostalgia. Rich with colour, detail and wit, these highly sought after pieces are £250 each and are framed in solid ash box frames. Alex is in the process of setting up a shop for her posters but you can contact her via the site plus you can also check out the posters at the various vintage shows that she exhibits at – I know that kidsGorétro will be at Modern Shows Fulham Pop-up on 6th-7th September (going!) as well as The South London Vintage Furniture Flea (also going!) too.
Alex also sells her vintage and retro maps (mostly from French classrooms) online at Retro Maps.
