Hot on the high street: Little Bird at Mothercare red rain mac

If there’s one thing I hate it’s admitting I’m wrong, but in the case of Jools Oliver’s Little Bird collection for Mothercare, I’m going to have to make an exception. When it launched I was a bit meh about it – seemed rather same old, same old – but popping into Mothercare for supplies the other day I was pleasantly surprised by the primary colour sweatshirts with contrast trim, £12, the red and white gingham smocked baby romper, £12, and this rain mac – a little piece of retro fabulousness. Bright red with rainbow elastic trim, it comes in sizes from six months to five years, costs from £16 and takes me right back to my childhood. Perfect for the spring days that (surely, please) must be just around the corner.
