This Sunday 22nd February, we’re headed to Shoreditch to get our groove on at Fun DMC, a daytime hip-hop party hosted by The Doctor’s Orders, a group of DJing parents . As soon as I read, “Whether the proud parent of a Lil Wayne, a Missy Elliot or a whole crew of Beastie Boys or Wee Papa Girls Rappers, this is the jam for you and yours. This is a real Hip-Hop party designed with both parents and children in mind so grab your ‘kid and play’!”, I was there!
Kids and parents will be able to practice their graffiti skills, drink rapper themed smoothies, dress up in their collection of fancy dress gear, and buy trainers and clothing from brands like Ruff & Huddle. I’m already imagining breaking out a few of my old school dance routines – my girls already know some of the moves from Bel Biv DeVoe’s ‘Poison’ and Milli Vanilli’s ‘Girl You Know It’s True’ amongst a few others. Can’t wait!
