If you’re not already familiar with the gold Lycra catsuit-clad wonderousness of the Scummy Mummies, a) Where have you been? and b) Go and Google them immediately. Comedians Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn have been spreading joy with their irreverent podcast since 2013 and no subject is off limits – pelvic floors, mid-life crises, what kind of loo roll Nigella uses and, naturally, parenting food staple fish fingers have all been discussed with a stellar line-up from comedians Dara O’Briain and Sally Phillips to bloggers Hurrah for Gin and The Unmumsy Mum, via agony aunt Philippa Perry, poet Hollie McNish and columnist Zoe Williams. Up to speed now? Well, this year, the Mummies are taking their talents on tour and will be appearing at a venue or festival near you. The live show promises to be a riot with songs, sketches, stand up and scummy confessions. I’m off to the Komedia show in a couple of weeks, and I’ll get to see them at Camp Bestival as well. #lucky Get your tickets for the Brighton show now as there’s only a handful left. See you there.
