We heart vintage toys here and we know you do too, so check out these super UK< Etsy stores selling a fabulous range of vintage toys . I know I am probably stating the obvious but safety first and all that. Do make sure you check out vintage toys throughly before giving them to little people. They’re not as friendly as toys these days – lead, sharp edges, flaking paint etc. Don’t let that put you off though, they still look fabulous!
Pickle Kids, Battle, East Sussex
Beautiful collection of toys – top of my list is the gorgeous vintage wooden blocks in different shapes and sizes which come in a wooden box with illustrations. Reminds me of something similar we had as children, although the vintage Chad Valley toddler coaster toy is a very close second. Prices are great. Both pieces I mention are only £15. If you’re local, they’re happy for you to collect too.
Magpie & Hen, London
Oh my, the vintage Fisher Price 1970 pull-along ‘Mini Copter’ toy just fell in to my basket so that’s no longer available (sorry!) but they do have the vintage Lego Duplo cot activity toy which would look so good in a nursery and I’m eyeballing the vintage Russian picture building blocks, too. Lola has the snoopy dog so that Copter is a perfect addition to her shelf.
Hebridean Beach Comber, Benbecula, Scotland
Although not just vintage toys, there’s a big (in vintage terms!) collection of vehicles that I know little hands will love. These make really brilliant decor items. If you’re thinking of a London themed room, or perhaps a farm theme, there’s lots for you. Prices start from just £3 too.
Dollyhouse Vintage, Brighton
I really had to sit on my hands to stop myself buying that Rainbow Brite horse. I remember my little sister having one and loving it at about the same age as Lola is now. And I know Lola would love it, plus it’s a steal at £12. They also have lots more 80s toys but it’s that till that caught my eye – it’s only £10. It’s in full working order and with a little clean up would look amazing.
Mems Art Shop, London
This store has more dolls than you can shake a stick at and I just adore the pretty face and eyes of the one pictured. There are dolls of all shapes and ages alongside some fabulous stuffed toys. You’ll also find some Fisher Price goodies. Prices start from around £10 up to an eye watering £261 – but that’s for a large collectible doll. There really is a huge range, so you’re sure to find something you love.
Enjoy vintage lovers!
