I first heard of Is Your Bag Packed? when I was nearing the end of my first pregnancy. Kirsten is a local lady, who, after the birth of her second child had a brainwave: why didn’t anyone offer all the labour bag essentials in one place? She had spent many hours trudging around the high street or surfing online trying to bring together everything she needed when someone else could have done the leg work. She set about making her idea a reality and two years down the line is going from strength to strength.
The idea is simple: everything for your hospital bag under one roof. You can browse and buy items separately from the sections: for labour, for you, for baby or treats. Or you can buy an essentials kit, which takes the hassle out of shopping and delivers you a complete package. The essentials kits range from £8.99 for an essentials labour kit to £115.99 for the ultimate plus kit which covers labour, baby and you.
There are some fabulous individual products on the site as well, my favourite being this glamorous breastfeeding nightdress (right) from Picchu Maternity for £44.03 with a matching dressing gown, or £24.46 on its own. While I might not have a push up bra on like the model I would love to have something so gorgeous to throw on post-natal. You can even buy or hire your TENs machine from a selection which includes the Elle TENs which I reviewed here.
All in all Kirsten has created an extremely useful site which takes the stress and effort out of filling your labour bag. Find your labour essentials at Is Your Bag Packed?
