We were lucky enough to be asked to be media partners with the fabulous Dot to Dot trade show this season and although family stuff got in the way of us attending (typical!), we’re happy to bring you some of the highlights, so you can see what’s in store for childrenswear in autumn/winter 2015.
Here are our top picks from the show.
The Bright Company. We adore the upcoming To the Moon and Back collection, which features the Polka Moon print – a collaboration with illustrator Sarah Dyer – on signature Slim Jyms, looser Slack Jyms, nightdresses, underwear, sleepsuits and blankets. For matchy matchy lovers, Mama and Dada Jyms will be available for Christmas.
The Little Shoemaker. If you’re looking for statement shoes, you’ve come to the right place. Handmade in leather and suede, the shoes and boots draw on vintage designs, but with a contemporary twist – they come in eye-popping neon and futuristic metallic shades.
Corby Tindersticks. Always quirky and brilliant, their new collection is inspired by the sea and the woods and included a lot of black and white and patchwork animals, plus new cards and notebooks.
Boys & Girls. Can’t wait for the Cosmic Kids collection to hit stores. With new items including bobble hats, bubble dresses and bomber jackets, it promises space invaders and all things intergalactic in a palette of cobalt, crimson and slate.
Tootsa MacGinty. Tootsa goes to Scotland for autumn/winter with cord, cashmere, tartan and Fair Isle all featuring, as well as deer and puffin motifs. You’ll also find a new range of merino wool hats and gloves and super-practical (and cool) packaway Puffa jackets.
Camomile London. India meets Scandinavia for this brand new interiors brand. Think muted tones, geometric patterns and colour pops on blankets, throws, pillows and cushions.
Lapin and Me. The hugely successful Woodland dolls have long been a BG fave and will come in new colours. You’ll also find new Little Cuties, including a panda and yellow deer, plus a few surprises.
Indikidual (above). The autumn/winter ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ collection is inspired by (yes, you guessed it) Egypt and features hieroglyphics, pyramids and other ancient iconography in vibrant colours on sweats, leggings, tops and blankets.
Amy & Ivor. These leather moccasins are oh-so-soft and available in the most surprising shades. Opt for the traditional style or the chic, streamlined urban design.
PS: Dot to Dot will be back in June – we’ll bring you all the details nearer the time.
