The wonderful thing about modern childrens spaces is that adult pieces can work in them too and I regularly stalk the gifts and home section of Urban Outfitters to see what new delights have rocked up. I felt instantly swoonish for these stiff crochet apple bowls by Sass & Belle, which are range of delightfully attractive goodies designed by Brit company RJB stone, who I reckon are responsible for a lot of the owl, robot, mushroom, and robot homewares and gifts in independent UK retailers. The apple motif is enduring and the set of two bowls, £12, could store bits and bobs while looking fabulous on a shelf or chest of drawers. Or you could keep it for yourself…
Typography fans, or as Lu and I like to say ‘word nerds‘, will love the wire numbers and letters which have the fitting for them to be wall mounted. At a fiver a pop, you could always distress them further if you’re the crafty type and wrap scraps of fabric around parts of or all of it. These and the apple bowls plus some other tempting delights you could slip in your shopping basket, are available in store and online at Urban Outfitters.
Londoners can check out the Sass & Belle store in Convent Garden – 21-22 New Row, WC2N 4 and there is supposed to be a site launching very soon.
