Covetable: Handmade Giraffe Giffy Lamps (and a quick update as to why we have been so quiet!)

I have had this post saved in my drafts for what feels like forever! January has seen some big changes at BG including a torturous website host move – and that’s never a great experience at the best of times. We’ve spent far too much time stressing instead of cool hunting of late! But we’re back now (praise be!) and the shop will be back in action very soon, too.  There are lots of other changes happening as well – the team, the format, plus we’re redefining what BG is because, quite frankly, these things cannot be a labour of love forever. This is the Giffy lamp made by Leanter.  It’s a beautifully designed table lamp – functional, fun and totally inspiring. It’s made from 18mm thick birch plywood which is coated with clear water-based lacquer. The shade is made out of 1.5mm aluminium and is powder coated with a smooth surface paint. It’s available in blue, green, yellow, orange, black, pink, white and red. I do love a coloured flex, so extra points for that, too! Fabulous detailing. Yes, it’ll set you back £137, but it’s timeless and the little ones will love it as much as the big ones. Perfect for themed bedrooms, too.
