We do love a UK festival (have you seen our listings?), but there’s also plenty going on overseas and the latest to catch our eye is the Mandala Festival. They write, Imagine going on a short holiday in the middle of nowhere. You enter a park surrounded by a big forest. A park with a beach, a nature pool and a Temple Island only reachable by selfmade rafts. There’s music on the beach and pop up parties in the forest. No massive stages, but a gathering in nature with seven different Tribes. Music, art, games, workshops, sport, wellness and loads of colorful entertainment. Sounds good, no? Mandala is for all ages and very pocket friendly. Do take some time to visit the website and find out about the Tribes and what’s happening. It’s quite a fresh take on the festival experience and has been added to the to do list.
When? The first Mandala will take place from 3 until 6 June, 2016. The gate opens on the Friday at 1pm and closes on the Monday morning at 11 am.
Where? Holiday park de Bergen, Wanroij, The Netherlands. [See Map]
How much? Weekend camping pricing is as follows:
- Aged 18+ €50 (£40)
- Aged 13-17 €35 (£28)
- Aged 5-12 €25 (£20)
- 4 and under €10 (£8)
If the thought of carrying on your gear over to the Netherlands makes you shiver, you can rent a Festipi for €150 (about £118).
