Last week I rocked on an Olli Ella da-da glider nursing chair (left), got to see brilliantly priced P’Kolino furniture from the US for the first time on our shores (below), lusted after an Oeuf NYC shelf and the owl rug by DwellStudio, stroked Stokke Sleepi’s, eyed up some very cool pushchairs, and had to restrain myself from stocking up on a host of goodies. All of these delights were under one roof in Swiss Cottage, at Huggle, a new concept in parenting retail.
About two minutes from Swiss Cottage tube station and close to the park and (rather posh) community centre and library, Huggle combines design led, super stylish products for babies and toddlers with a cafe and parent and child classes (the ‘Huggle Lounge’), all under one roof. Founded by husband and wife team Jason and Rachel Heller, they’ve scoured the globe for cool brands with many of them in the UK for the very first time. What results is an exciting mix of products that would make any design and style conscious parent’s eyes go on stalks.

From nursery and playroom furniture and equipment and accessories by Bloom, Stokke, Oeuf NYC and DwellStudio, to pushchairs by favourites like Bugaboo as well as new to the UK brand UPPAbaby, affordable artwork by the likes of Stinky Whizzers, toys by BG favourites like Green Toys (the tea set pictured is selling like hot cakes) and Plan Toys, to feeding gear by Boon, Born Free, Medela, and Aden and Anais, to books, to changing bags by JJ Cole and Storksak, to a small but perfectly formed selection of clothing, it’s the type of pleasurable shopping experience that much of us hope for, but often don’t get when you’re a parent looking for something that little bit different.

If you know even a little of the background to how I came to start this blog, you’ll know that it was born out of the fear that gripped me when I was presented with a serious lack of choice on the high street for buying cool stuff for my then bump and spending lots of time researching (read: shopping) online.
Wherever you live in London, they’re worth a visit although I doubt you’ll leave empty handed! They will be launching their website soon which we’ll of course let you know about as soon as it happens!
