Ah…finally a contemporary travel cot with futuristic hints that you’d actually be happy to put up in your home or on your travels.
If you like the sound of a travel cot that’s described as ‘super-lightweight and ultra-compact’, you’d be pretty much like the great majority of parents because most mainstream travel cots clock up towards 10kg (or even more) in weight meaning you may have a sleeping child…and a hernia by the time you’re done with it.
The Easy Sleeper Travel Cot by Silver Cross is 4.7kg in weight and it comes down to a compact enough fold to fit into a carry bag that looks like a suitcase. And considering how your average travel cot folds down, this is veeery compact.
I love the look of this asymmetrical cot with its ergonomic windows. Easy on the eye and easy on its surroundings, you’d want to show this off and use it as a playpen as well.
It’s got a padded mattress, the modern fabrics are removable and hand washable, and they claim its a doddle to fold. I hope so… I still remember when I spent nearly an hour trying to assemble a travel cot at a hotel in the US and having to force myself to resist the temptation to chuck it over the balcony…Mind you, it was pretty heavy so it probably wouldn’t have been worth the effort…
Anyway, I digress!
You can find out more about the Easy Sleeper Travel Cot on the Silver Cross site and it’ll be available in Jan 09. It should be around £80.
