I became a fan of Cos, the upmarket yet affordable label from the peeps behind H&M a couple of years ago, when they opened a store on Regent’s Street.
Specialising in understated men’s and women’s clothing in great quality fabrics and cuts that are often neutral but with some splashes of colour, it’s like the European version of Banana Republic but not as pricey.
So of course I am delighted to hear that they will be launching a childrenswear collection starting from Spring/Summer 09 for ages 1-4 – woohoo!
Taking inspiration from their adult collection with some exact replicas of their adult pieces (hmmm, upmarket mini-me’s…) plus reinterpretations to keep it child friendly such as this cotton jacket £39, they’ve also got some wonderful injections of colour, like the vibrant, pleated skirt pictured above, for £25. I’m also more than a tad swoonish for their raspberry cotton shift dress with its gathered waist which is £29.
Definitely one to give a number of the designer childrenswear brands, non Londoners will undoubtedly be peeved that they only have stores in London at present. For those of you who want to get your mitts on the collection, it’ll be available in store from March.
You can find out more about Cos on their website.
