Bedding for babies and toddlers is big business, especially when you have discerning tastes. Thankfully here at BG, we keep coming across stylish buys and here are two of our latest finds:
Last month when I visited the Top Drawer Spring trade show, I fell in love with this beautiful bedding by Brit duo Lulu & Nat.
Hand printed using wooden blocks and made from 100% Indian cotton, the clever use of colour combined with the charming prints had me a tad feverish! Available in both cot and single bed size, there’s also sheets, pillowcases, throws, yummy cushions with beautiful embroidery and I just wish they’d hurry up and get online.
For now, they do seem to be heavily London based at stores like Designers Guild, Liberty, The Cross, Petit Aime. I phoned around and got so many varying prices for the bedding sets, my head hurts! I’ll put it this way – You’re looking at upwards of £100 for a pillowcase and duvet set. Credit crunch? What credit crunch….?
If you like your children’s bedding with an upmarket, preppy, appeal that’s reminiscent of Ralph Lauren, you’ll be all over Babou’s range of bedding and soft furnishings for babies and children. Think checks, whimsical florals, dots, stripes, and ginghams.
Prices start from £10 for pillowcases up to £80 for a quilt, with various accessories and soft furnishings available. They do both baby and boy and girl bedding, although the ‘boy’ bedding is the best and works for both sexes, with a bit more colour diversity too.
