Finally..a photo from the bambino’s birthday
So we celebrated the bambino’s birthday by managing to gather almost all of closest family and friends (and even a few kids) to toast her first birthday and a year of perfect (joke) parenthood.
The bambino spent most of the morning being a bit suspicious of strange people calling her up and singing rather tunelessly down the phone although she didn’t seem averse to accepting gifts…. As the day progressed, I think she then became suspicious that the people were arriving to take her somewhere so she went into diva mode and roared at anyone who came near her. Eventually she accepted that she wasn’t going anywhere and got into the swing of things.
Never ones to follow tradition, let’s just say that everyone (not the bambino) got very drunk and I had to keep checking to make sure that my ma, father, and stepmother weren’t squabbling. It was serious cringe-o-rama when I walked in on my mum and dad bickering about artificial insemination so I sent him to the shop to buy vodka…
We had a lovely big white chocolate cake with little marzipan animals and fruit on top of the icing, which after covering it with candles, the boyf insisted that we just have one. After singing happy birthday and the bambino clapping along and bringing tears to my eyes, the boyf stuck on Stevie Wonder’s ‘Happy Birthday’ and we took lots of photos of her posing with everyone. She loved the song and pumped her legs furiously and lapped up the limelight like a true diva.
It was brilliant day and everyone got rather drunk and then bickered over a game of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on the Wii where my ma kept getting confused about which team she was on…
I can’t believe the little madam is one!
Oh and the t-shirt is a My Little Pony t-shirt from the fab H&M childrens clothing section which of course isn’t online. I think it was £3.99. She did have on a red pair of Pia Wallen Felt Slippers… but she kept ripping them off….
