I had a bit of a duh moment when I realised that I can’t test this out because I’m not preggers… It’ll be winging its way to a preggers reviewer after this!
Anyway before anyone gets any funny ideas, this isn’t a pregnancy test you’re looking at. The KickTrak Smart Kick Counter and Pregnancy Tracker (quite a name) basically helps you keep a record of your kick counting sessions.
Now as someone whose brain turned to mush towards the end of her pregnancy and I’d forget to make a note of the kick or spend ages wondering if the number of kicks I had were correct, I can see how valuable a product like this is.
Choose the time of day when your baby is most active and record each move. We’re supposed to be able to count about ten movements in a two hour active session and this can be a combo of jabs, kicks, rolls, twists, turns…and the limbo…joking.
It’s made in compliance with EU legislation and meets all of the requirements for the restriction of certain materials so you can buy in confidence even though it comes from the US.
I love the idea of this but I add a caution saying not to get too over paranoid. It’s an indicator. Some babies do ten movements in thirty minutes and others take longer and if you know your baby is healthy then you have a general idea of their pattern so it’s more about noting changes in their movements that can be an indicator of a potential problems so that you can get onto to your midwife.
I’m a big fan of products that make your life easier, particularly in pregnancy so I like the sound of this already!
They’re $39.95 direct from BabyKick who do ship internationally but obviously clarify the charges! I think for roughly £20, this is a great buy. I ‘almost’ wish I was pregnant just so I could have a go!
