I admit, when I’m stuck for ideas on what to cook, if it’s big people’s food I rely heavily on Jamie Oliver, but when I want to get innovative with the bambino’s meals, I look no further than Annabel Karmel’s mealplanner, which made it no hardship to check out her shell pasta shapes recently.
Part of her ‘Make It Easy’ range which comprises of organic and gluten free pasta that’s made in Italy, there’s no artificial preservatives or additives. Suitable from 7 months, they take between 5 to 9 minutes to cook and are ideal for weaning as you go into lumpy food territory and for mixing with veggie sauces.
The bambino at almost 2, big food lover that she is, can be strangely hit and miss with pasta but so far, fingers crossed, the fickle missy seems to like these. They’re £1.19 to £1.79 for 250g at stores like Waitrose and Tesco and if you’re looking for recipe ideas, you should check out the Annabel Karmel site, or be like me and buy the Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner which is available from Amazon via the BG store for £8.49 (RRP £12.99).
