Boy am I excited to be announcing that we are expecting our third child next Spring. When I dreamed about having a family of my own three was always the magic number so I am thrilled that we have been lucky enough to make it this far. I was so tired and ill early on I thought we might be expecting twins but it turns out I had Lyme disease and just the one baby.
The practical side of me says by now we have almost everything a new baby could need but wouldn’t life be boring if I paid attention to that! I have been doing a little virtual window shopping in the last few months and this is my fantasy shopping list.
First up is the gorgeous Bednest (1) it looks beautiful and is totally practical as it allows co-sleeping without the worry of rolling on top of the baby. Since the first time I clapped eyes on one I knew it was perfect for us. Secondly I’m hankering after a Stokke Tripp Trapp newborn set (2 – and a third Tripp Trapp to go with it) I can see there will be many times when I’ll need to be cooking and need the baby close the bouncer we have is hopeless so I’m thinking this will be a gorgeous and practical replacement. Every girl needs a spa day (3) and I’m thinking I am long overdue some kind of pampering so I’ve been dropping subtle hints about a Mother-to-be spa day at Chewton Glen, of course I wouldn’t say no to a whole weekend…
Now entering the realms of super fantasy, I have been coveting the Olli Ella da-da chair (4). I can just picture myself serenely gliding in the chair, feet up on the matching ottoman whilst feeding a happy newborn (and my hair looks great). After trying out the new Phil and Teds Explorer (5) I can’t get the idea of owning one out of my head. I tried to come up with a reason to buy the scrummy stem print Orla Kiely changing bag (6) last Spring but couldn’t convince Mr Kat. Now I have the perfect excuse and it’s all sold out. I’m not as keen on the dark winter colours so I shall be keeping my fingers crossed SS11 is just as hot, in the mean time I am hearting the Multi Car Print Weekender Bag.
There will no doubt be more fantasy shopping in the next few months especially seeing as eventually we will have to move the bedrooms around. You may notice that there aren’t any maternity clothes on here and that is because I can’t find anything swoon worthy in my size so I have been conspiring with Amanda from Kitschy Coo to make something special just for me, details to follow.
So that is my fantasy shopping list – what’s on yours?
