A couple of weeks ago, I attended Bust magazine’s Craftacular in Bethnal Green, a buzzing event full of people selling their handmade creations, pumping eighties music, and a brilliant pop up tea shop where I scoffed cupcakes and drank tea with one of Nia’s future godmothers. By far my favourite find was the hand printed cushions and plush toys by 21 year old Central St Martin’s textile graduate, Caroline Dulko.
The girl’s got serious talent (check out her designs on Flickr) and I became an instant fan of her creations inspired by Red Riding Hood and the owl and the pussycat story by Edward Lear, as well as the cheeky, crafty fox print. She also does hankies, pencil cases, tea towels, bags, and hand-cut cards. Cushions start from $15.99 and plush toys from $13.50 on Etsy. A superhot find for sure!
