Believe it or not, this is a highchair, and I’m quite fascinated by it. The Rinki highchair by Seimi is a minimalist, Nordic delight designed by Finnish designer, Hannu Peltonen.
It works as a highchair till about 2-3 years of age and then converts into a high stool, converting using 3 easy hand screws. It was a finalist in the Innovation Award at Kind+Jugend 2005 and is designed to fit in with the modern family in their contemporary kitchen or dining area, with its cool turquoise colour. There’s no tray here – it’s pull them up at the table and let your baby engage in family dinner times.
I’m a big fan of wooden highchairs that have longevity due to converting into adult seats and I think that this beautifully crafted, unusual design is a definite contender in our house for future bambino’s.
