If you’re looking for sustainable kids’ clothes that will stand the test of time, here’s the only list you’ll need. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite brands as part of our Earth Day series – the BG kids have been wearing and loving these forever!
Sustainable. Ethical. Cool. Those three words some up this brand perfectly. They’re leading the way in zero waste too – all their garments are made using zero waste cutting techniques, hence reducing fabric waste from the standard 30% to only 1-2%.
Their clothing is created with care using only GOTS-certified cotton. This means the cotton is 100% organic and they’ve have paid a fair price for it.
The Bright Company
The BG kids’ absolute favourite pyjamas are made by Brighton-based TBC, with the whole range made from GOTS-certified organic cotton and meeting Oeko-Tex standard 100 guidelines.
Did you know, many moons ago, Lola modelled for this Brighton label? They’ve been leading the way in colourful organic childrenswear for over 20 years!
The Bonnie Mob
Brighton brands really seem to lead the way in terms of sustainability. All the yarns in Bonnie Mob’s organic cotton baby clothes are Oeko-Tex and GOTS certified and approved by the Better Cotton Initiative.
The organic Swedish brand is launching its ‘Wear, love and give back’ initiative in its UK stores soon to save tonnes of clothing from going into landfill.
Their huge variety of organic cotton clothes will keep your kids covered from birth and beyond. That’s not to mention the range of clothes for mums that’ll keep you looking great from bump to breastfeeding!
Little Green Radicals
One of my favourite brands ever – my kids have been wearing their nightwear since birth! One of the first in the UK to get Fairtrade certification for cotton and they’ve always been organic.
Another of our long-time faves, all Tootsa clothes are made from natural materials that aren’t chemically produced or enhanced in any way and GOTS or SEDEX registered. (Their mid-season sale is also on at the moment.)
Eco-friendly, ultra-performing cloth nappies made from one of the most sustainable plants, bamboo. Great products with fabulous designs.
The Little Green Sheep
They’ve been producing natural, organic mattresses and bedding for over a decade. Made from coconut coir, cotton and wool, the mattresses are naturally fire retardant without need for chemicals.
