BabyGeek
A twenty something first time Mama, Kat is a shameless geek who has given up any pretence to the contrary. She writes under the names BabyGeek and MamaGeek.
Favourite website for shopping: Etsy. There is such a wealth of creativity and design and it goes right across the board. I love supporting artists and crafters while getting something truly original. Best of all is that prices are in US$ so it’s like a permanent half price sale!
Favourite offline store: I love The Hambledon.Their online presence is minimal compared to the wealth of delights in the shop. Their product selection has opened my eyes to design over the last few years, I only wish I had the money to shop there more often.
Baby product I couldn’t survive without: This is a tough question as I have some fabulous products. If I were forced I would say My Breast Friend. It took all the pressure off my back and made positioning super easy in the early days of breast feeding. When any mama-to-be asks me what I would recommend I always say this first.
Pregnancy product I couldn’t survive without: Without a doubt has to be Next maternity clothing. As a *ahem* larger lady, I was totally paranoid I would end up with nothing to wear by seven months but Next came to the rescue. Their range goes up to a size 22 and their over-bump jeans were so comfortable.
Any product that makes motherhood easier: Has to be my slings! I love my Ellaroo ring and wrap slings and would not be without them.
Most treasured possessions: Photographs. My laptop died recently containing my (un-backed-up) photos of BabyGeek - I did cry.
Best excuse to my partner for buying something: I don’t have any excuses!
Favourite TV Show: Only one? I adore Peep Show and Gavin and Stacey but if I could only watch one show it would be Home and Away (ha ha ha!)
Any guilty pleasures: I have love Green & Blacks Almond Chocolate, blog reading, watching dodgy Australian soaps, oh, and shopping online :0)
